“Art, an edifice of such ethereal beauty, is not erected merely with the finite bricks and mortar of an artist’s creative genius but by the infinite genius of the eternal and omniscient Artist who created every artist.” -Nicolas “nYkp” Pettye
Worship Outreach is a student ministry opportunity located on the campus of Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Their goal is to equip, train, and send students into the Church and the world as ministers of music in worship.
Daniel is a senior Religion/Philosophy major at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. After graduation, he plans on attending seminary to obtain a Master’s of Divinity degree and is on the path to certified candidacy. His five year journey with clay has taken him as far as the mountains of Virginia where he apprenticed at a pottery studio, making his own pots and learning about traditional wood firing techniques. He is discerning a vocation that resides at the intersection of pottery and ministry, where his passion for pots can shape others to be formed by grace.
Dawn has been in youth ministry for over 20 years. She began creating Sand Art stories as a way to find new ways to help her students visualize God’s word. She noticed they were much more responsive to a visual message than a verbal one. As an artist, she has seen how this unique medium really captures the attention of those that might otherwise tune out. Dawn participates in worship arts whenever possible and also in secular settings like cancer support groups, civic groups, etc.
Dawn has over 25 years of experience in advertising and graphic design. She works in the Communications Dept. of the UM General Board of Higher Education & Ministry. She is also a proud wife, mom and grandmother of the two cutest kids ever…just ask her.
