Becca Griffin – Cookeville, TN

A youthly leader, writer, and artsy person hailing from the great and costly city of Mobile, AL, where she worked for years in youth ministry, curriculum creating, and worship leading. She now lives, thinks, rents library books, eats food, runs, and walks in Cookeville, TN, and is currently working for the United Methodist Church in the Tennessee Conference alongside some kind people.

Jacob Cogman – Mdiv Student at Candler School of Theology

Certified Lay Servant in the United Methodist Church. Some of his interests include law, public policy, social justice, and ministry. He is a 2016 graduate of Claflin University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Justice Studies and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion. Currently, Jacob is a student at Emory University – Candler School of Theology in the Master of Divinity program.

James Cogman – Mdiv Student at Yale University

Graduate of Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina with degrees in Politics and Justice Studies and Psychology.  He now attends Yale University pursuing his Master of Divinity degree. James ultimately wants to become a global icon that spreads the gospel of Jesus Christ while creating positive change and peace of earth.

Emma Johnston – Lynchburg, VA Mdiv Graduate Wesley Theological Seminary

Currently serves as the Associate Minister of Discipleship at a mid-size UMC in Lynchburg, VA. Recently graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary with an M.Div, and is seeking ordination as a Deacon.

Ignacio Ponce – Graduate California Polytechnic University

Recent graduate from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where he studied Business Management and Marketing. He is a son of Management and Marketing. He is a son of immigrants and the oldest of eight siblings. In 2014, he became a co-founder of My Familia, a tutoring program that aims to help students from underprivileged communities to pursue higher education.


Bishop Sandra L. Steiner Ball is the current Bishop for the the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Bishop Steiner Ball sees the United Methodist Church as a dynamic network of faith communities passionate about sharing the hope, love, and life of Christ. Her vision for the church has deep roots in her life experience.
